Black Electroless Nickel Plating
AST is proud to be the first plating company to provide EBENI™ Black Electroless Nickel Plating (EN), a very attractive alternative to conventional Electroless Nickel plating. With an appearance darker than black chrome but more opaque than black anodize, EBENI™ Black EN provides a unique metallic finish.
Like all of AST’s specialty Electroless Nickel plating systems, parts plated with EBENI™ Black EN have superior resistance to corrosion and rust. Because there is no dependency on electrical current, EBENI™ Black EN is a very uniform coating that can be applied to parts with complex geometries in typical thicknesses of .0005”-.002”.
EBENI™ Black EN can be applied with either a mid-phosphorus or high-phosphorous deposit and is ideal for many substrates including stainless steel, aluminum, steel, copper, brass and magnesium. To create the most effective plated deposit, in addition to phosphorous content, we consider pre-plate and post-plate treatment techniques and plating bath formulation in all our Electroless nickel plating processes.
AST has over four decades of experience in the metal finishing industry and provides unique solutions for a number of industries including, aerospace, medical, oil & gas, firearms and automotive, among others. From our rack and barrel processing lines, we supply Electroless nickel plated components according to MIL-C-26074, AMS 2404, and/or ASTM B-733 standards. We maintain superior waste management techniques and have been recognized with the Colorado Environmental Leadership Award and numerous Denver Metro Gold Awards.
