Electrolytic Nickel Plating
Advanced Surface Technologies has both Bright and Sulfamate Electrolytic nickel plating for a diverse range of engineering and cosmetic applications. Sulfamate Nickel plating provides a Nickel deposit for corrosion protection and is a functional highly ductile, low stress deposit used in applications where there is flexing, crimping, soldering, brazing and bonding.
Electrolytic Nickel Plating Standards
Advanced Surface Technologies Electrolytic Nickel deposits conform to QQ-N-290, AMS 2403, AMS 2424 and ASTM B689.
Our nickel finishes have durable mechanical properties that allow them to sustain severe operating conditions. They are ideal for varied metal surfaces, including steel, copper & copper-based alloys. Deposits from sulfamate nickel plating baths have in general a very fine grain structure, and as a result the deposits are very smooth and ductile and have a slight sheen in appearance.
Tensile strengths range from 60,000 psi to 130,000 psi, depending upon the conditions under which a bath is operated. Correspondingly, ductility ranges from 30 percent elongation in 2 inches to a low of 6 percent elongation at a hardness of 550VHN.
